Alex Vassey

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional

Alex grew up in Seneca as the son of a Duke Energy employee and an elementary school art teacher. He was allowed a unique and well-rounded childhood with a great deal of emphasis by his mother on creative freedom while seeing firsthand the importance of a hard-working father who always took time for his children. After moving from Charleston back to his hometown to raise his own family in one of the most beautiful counties in South Carolina, he plans to continue to exemplify the importance of hard work, education, and creativity that played such a significant role in his own childhood in both his personal and professional life.

Alex is on the Board of Directors for The Blue Ridge Arts Council and The Foothills Farmstead. He also serves as the District 3 Representative for the Oconee County Planning Commission. When he's not working, he's most likely spending time with his wife, Cohleen, and their four children: Liam (9), Piper (8), Flynn (4), and Rowan (1).

His Baccalaureate in Business Administration was earned from the College of Charleston and allowed him the opportunity to spend several years in the Intermodal Transportation Industry surrounding the ports of Charleston before realizing his analytical skills would be more suited to personal financial planning. Alex holds his FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network, the SC Life Insurance license, and maintains the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM designation.

As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional, Alex has committed himself to provide clients with high standards of service and ethics. As part of the CFP® certification process and the terms and conditions imposed upon certificants and registrants, the CFP® Board maintains professional standards necessary for competency in the financial planning profession. Through its Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility (Code of Ethics), the Board identifies the ethical principles certificants and registrants should meet in all of their professional activities. As a Chartered Retirement Plans SpecialistSM, Alex provides business owners with an understanding of how to establish an efficient retirement plan and helps ensure regular compliance with plan rules. A CRPS® designee can evaluate the financial status of your business and design the optimal plan for your employees.
