Alex Vassey

Alex Vassey is a Seneca native who takes great pride in having grown up in Oconee County. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the College of Charleston and obtained his MBA from Coastal Carolina University.

Following graduation, Alex built his early career in Charleston as a manager for an intermodal trucking company. In this role, he oversaw as many as 120 drivers. However, during the 2008 economic recession, the trucking industry was severely impacted. Alex spent much of that year delivering difficult news to drivers who were losing work—an experience that left a lasting impression on him. This period deepened his understanding of how critical financial decisions are and how economic downturns can profoundly affect individuals, families, and businesses.

Motivated by these experiences, Alex transitioned into the field of investment management and financial planning, where he found a strong alignment with both his skill set and personal values. He currently holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network®, a South Carolina life insurance license, and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) certification. In addition, Alex earned a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Corporate and Investment Real Estate from Coastal Carolina University.

Outside of his professional life, Alex enjoys spending time with his wife, Cohleen, and their four children—Liam, Piper, Flynn, and Rowan. Whether coaching youth sports, swimming, or simply enjoying the outdoors, family time is at the center of Alex’s life.
